Artist's Comments

Based on the 60's acid rock era, I incorporated famous album covers and phrases used in songs from the time to greate this piece.
Inside the squares up in the sky, once put together with slightly different colours, is the picture the Beatles had painted on their Apple studios.
The Who lie on the sidewalk draped in the Union Jack flag, like they did for the cover of "The Kids Are Alright". Frank Zappa walks down the sidewalk in his crazy hat, carrying his guitar.
The two figures walking across the road are supposed to be Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. I left closer details off them to depict that they are shells now in comparison to their Beatles heyday.
Tommy's Pinball Parlour is a salute to the Who's "Pinball Wizard" and their rock opera "Tommy".
The exit to Highway 61 sign is a reminder of Bob Dylan's great album, "Highway 61 Revisited". And there's other little things in the painting too, which are a nod to great albums/songs/artists/art and such produced in the 60's.

And the wording across the middle, saying "Let me Show you my Dream", is like the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"... it stands for LSD.

It's painted on a loose canvas which I had to put over four small desks in art classes while I was working on it.
